TELAVIVIAN STORIES – NORTH SIDE
So this is where I spent my christmas holiday this year (well, last year 2018), together with my bf, my bff and her bf. This years adventure was to explore Israel & Jordan with beginning and ending in the cool city of Tel Aviv. So let me tell you my story of the city. The north (and very expensive) part of the city.
UGLY BUT STILL BEAUTIFUL
This city is beautiful in an ugly way. Saaaay whaaaat? I mean, I´m not a fan of big fancy up to the clouds buildings. And that´s probably why New York or Bangkok didn´t reach my city top list. There are parts of Tel Aviv that looks like Miami (even thou I never been there) and parts that looks like the suburbs of Mumbai (there I´ve been). I love the mix of riviera fancyness by the marina in the north and the colourful street art covering the walls of Florentin and the old charming town of Jaffa. It´s like (at least) 2 cities in one. I know which part I liked the most and I will tell you more about Jaffa and Florentin in another story. It totally feels like two completely different cities.
FUN TIMES TEL AVIV
So where to hang out by night when the sun comes down and it´s time to leave the beach? Here´s some recommendations of cool bars and great food.
This is where we found great pizza: JACKIE´S PIZZA BAR on Rothschild Boulevard. Wanna be outdoor but still indoor – cool place for drinks try not to get lost: SPUTNIK BAR at Allenby Street. If you´re the kind of person that likes to have a selection of EVERYTHING at the table – do as the taco lovers and visit MEXICANA at Bograshov Street. You won´t be disappointed. Promise. And if you´re suddenly out of guacamole because you ate it all – you get a new bowl. Service I say!
EAT FALAFEL
…doesn´t really matter where you eat it, just eat it. It´s THE best falafel everywhere you go in Israel. I prefer to stay away from the tahini thou, I´ve really tried to like it but everytime it tastes like something gone bad. Not my kind of flavour. I´ll go for hummus – and loads of it please!
TELAVIVIAN SUNSET
Those magical sunsets, I´ll never get tired of sunset. The beautiful mix between orange and pink – it´s just wow. Even more so when looking at a dog learning to surf.
HAPPY NYE TEL AVIV
No fireworks (time to get used to it anyways) but loads and loads of pub & club parties. I guess we had a blurry one. Happy new year 2019!

LOOKING FOR A HOTEL IN TEL AVIV? DAVE GORDON – SON OF A BROWN – a funky artistic boutique hotel right next to the beach in the north part of the city, close to the Marina. Great location if you wanna hang out on the beach at day time and by night go try out the telavivian night life. We did both! I will definitely recommend this place as they are service minded and provides the guest with free welcoming beer and popcorn. That´s my kind of service! Be sure to book one of the Foxy Rooms. We had the opportunity to look at three of them and the red ones are awesome with bath tubes right next to the bed! Who would´t wanna wake upp and jump directly into a hot bath – bubbles (with bubbles) for breakkie!
…and don´t miss out on the roof terrance – available for all guest.
EXPENSIVE? I would say it´s affordable luxury – since Tel Aviv is an expensive city over all.
